PLEASE DON'T COPY!

The Eighties! Schrill, bunt und kitschig! XD
Wenn ich an japanische Popidole denke, verbinde ich es meist mit den Achtziger-Jahren. Keine Ahnung weshalb ... vielleicht liegt es ja an den Animes (wie Aishite Night), die ich als Kind geguckt habe.^^
Irgendwie finde ich den Shoujo-Mangastil der damaligen Zeit süss und lustig, so wollte ich mich mal daran versuchen.
Bei den Haaren habe ich mehrmals mit verschiedenfarbiger Tusche (pink, blau, braun etc.) darübergemalt. Dadurch gibt es diesen wolkigen Effekt. Mit pinkem Deckweiss habe ich anschliessend die Strahlen des Scheinwerfers gemalt und bin dann mit weiss drüber.
Im Nachhinein wünschte ich, ich hätte die Stiefel schwarz gemacht. Nun ja ...

"50 MANGA BABES to draw and paint" ist ein englisch-sprachiges Zeichenbuch, welches fünfzig Artworks der unterschiedlichsten Frauen im Manga-Stil zeigt, zusammen mit Schritt-für-Schritt Bildern, detaillierten Beschreibungen zum Entstehungsprozess und Zeichen-Tipps.

Ich hatte die tolle Aufgabe, fünfzehn dieser "Babes" zeichnen zu dürfen (siehe rechte Spalte). Ich hatte folgende Vorgaben: gezeichnet im Manga-Stil, weibliche Figur, einem Thema/Charaktertyp zugeordnet, Ganzkörper-Ansicht, kein Hintergrund.

Das Buch ist toll geworden und für diejenigen, die etwas Englisch können, sehr zu empfehlen. Das Buch ist bei Amazon erhältlich.

When I think of Japanese pop idols, I associate them with the style of the eighties. No clue how this comes ... maybe it's because of animes (e.g. Aishite Night), which I saw as a kid.^^
In some way, I like the shoujo style back then. It was cute and funny, thus I would like to give it a trial.
For her hair, I painted several layers of different-coloured indian inks (pink, cyan, brown etc.). So this cloudy, blotchy effect has occurred. After that, I painted the rays of the spotlight with pinkish opaque ink and then painted over it with white opaque ink.
Afterwards, I guess it probably would have been looked better to colour the boots black. Oh, well.

"50 MANGA BABES to draw and paint" is an English How-to-draw book displaying fifty artworks of different women in manga style together with step-by-step illustrations, detailed descriptions and drawing tips.

I had the wonderful commission to draw fifteen of this "babes" (see the right column).
I had to comply with this criteria: drawn in manga style, female chara, view of the whole body, related to a topic/character type, no background.

This book is great and I can recommend it to all learning to draw in manga style. It's available at Amazon.
